Bears may be able to climb trees, but there aren't many reports of them getting into aircraft, so hopefully a quick sprint - which would probably be an unofficial record-breaking one - could get one back to the Cessna (first!). By the way, in this photograph, you can easily spot the rudder on the right -hand float. Connected to the pedals, this  permits steering on the water. The arrangement seemed very effective. In the distance, the Chugach mountain range.
Anchorage International Airport Returning, and making a  left-hand approach, the close relationship between Spenard lake and the "hard" runways must make this one of the world's more unusual International Airports.
