Under the Bridge

Passing under Brunel's early masterpiece, the Clifton Suspension Bridge, the
train takes us through a short tunnel.  The Observatory (a former snuff mill)
can be seen beyond the bridge,  (worth
a visit for its rare Camera Obscura). The single track passes several old quarry sites, a major function of which was to provide ballast for passing ships, and presses on downstream.

Leaving the Gorge, and breaking away from the river, the train arrives at a country Halt - Ham Green. There's a lily pond over on the right...

On leaving this cosy quintessential Halt, another tunnel - reminiscent of those model train set tunnels - marks the way to Pill.
