Progress at Avon Valley Railway

A giant leap - thanks to volunteer efforts and good financial planning. Avon Valley dramatically moved up the Heritage Railway League on Sunday April 6, 2003. These were the defining moments when track clearly reached the River Avon:-

As you see above, two more track panels were laid, taking the railway to the south bank, and the domain of B&NS (Bath & North Somerset).
Addition of points for a run-round will eliminate top 'n tailing. Four miles of steam operation to enjoy - and optional boat trips using a landing stage below the bridge. Marvellous!
